A Story About A Mother's Love and Sacrifice
A man was performing the Hajj rite together with his beloved mum who was old and very weak. So he decided to carry his mum on his shoulders and begin the ritual Tawaaf. And while he was performing the ritual tawaaf (7 x around the Blessed Ka’aba), he thought for a while that what a magnificent place to be with my mum on my shoulders where All the Prophets (alayhi sallams), and especially the Beloved of Allah S.W.T. Prophets Muhammad (Salallaahu Alaihe Wa Sallam), The Honourable Sahabis (R.A.) & The Saints (Waliullah) and Prominent Imams, Sheikhul Islam have laid their Blessed feet upon.
Just then he thought to himself that his duties as a filial son are completed. However, before his thought could end he was surpassed by an “old man” who said to him “ONLY ONE DAY”. And before he could realize who said that words, the old man had disappeared just as he had appeared before.
After finishing his ritual tawaaf and saiee (7x Safaa & Maruwah) together with his mum he sat down and related this incident to his mum. His mum then smiled and recalled an incident that took placed when he was then a new born baby and just after his father has passed away they became so poor that they couldn’t even afford a decent home without any essential things like decent furniture like a chair, table, bed or mattress etc. They used to sleep on the harden ground almost everyday.
And on one rainy night during a very heavy monsoon, rain waters began to seep through the holes into their home. Realizing that she just can’t leave her son sleep with her on the wet and muddy ground, she comforted him by laying him on her chest keeping him warm and cozy throughout the whole night while she lay on the wet ground protecting him from getting wet.
His mum did not tell him about this incident till now. And the son soon realizes that the act of sacrifice of his dear mum on that rainy night signifies and made him understood why he heard the word “ONLY ONE DAY” by an old man which was actually the words of ALLAH (S.W.T.) who spoke through him to make him realizes that no matter how a filial sons or a daughters worldly duties towards their respective parents, can never be summed up as done or completed. For a mother’s and father’s love and caring for their children can never be measured by any instruments or for that matter put any monetary value to it.
There are no words to describe or instruments to measure their sacrifices and endless love and care rendered to their children.
So brothers and sis - in – Islam do take heed of this incident and let’s take good care our dearest parents throughout our living mortal life.
May ALLAH S.W.T. accept our sincere deeds & amals with the blessing of THE BELOVED RASULLULLAHI SALALLAHU ALIHI WA SALLAM……Ameen…..Ameen…..Ya…Rabbal…A’lameen.
